OVER A CENTURY OF FARMING LEGACY

Graham Island East Coast Farmers Institute

The Institute has served the people of Haida Gwaii for more than a century. We are legislated under the Women’s and Farmers Institutes Act of British Columbia. The Institute started on Haida Gwaii on May 23, 1912. We are also members of the BC Farmers Market Association and BC Fairs and Exhibitions. The Institute exists for people who raise livestock and poultry and for those who grow fruits, vegetables and flowers for market or home.
